ABOUT THE MSBA-HTM PROGRAM

Virginia Tech's Master of Science in Business Administration - Concentration in Hospitality & Tourism Management (MSBA-HTM) prepares students for management and leadership roles across a wide range of careers in the hospitality and tourism sector. Professionals in service-focused industries such as hotels, restaurants, tourism, cruise lines, theme parks, attractions, museums, meetings and conferences, airlines, trains, gaming, senior living, and more will gain new skills and insight from the MSBA-HTM program that can help launch the next stage of their career, whether at the property, division, regional, or corporate level.

Located in the greater Washington, D.C., metro area, the MSBA-HTM program allows you to earn a career-focused master's degree at your own pace while you continue in your full-time role. The flexible, in-person class format enriches your graduate education experience by enabling you to become an active participant in classroom lectures and discussions, establish working relationships with your peers, and engage with top-notch faculty and industry professionals, all at a pace that makes sense for your life.

The curriculum is designed to provide you with a comprehensive business education through MBA-level courses, while still providing the flexibility to tailor your degree to an area of particular interest to your hospitality career. Specialization areas allow you to enhance your master's degree by focusing your coursework in topics like business analytics & revenue management, entrepreneurship, or international strategy with an optional study abroad opportunity. Courses in these specialization areas are taught by a mix of academic and professional faculty, which provides students with a front-row seat to research on emerging issues and technologies, as well as market-based practice and real-world case studies.

As an MSBA-HTM student, you become part of a vibrant community of Virginia Tech Graduate School students in the Washington, D.C., area that are pursuing a diverse range of graduate education programs. There are many opportunities each semester to connect with students outside your program through local Graduate School events.
