MSBA-HTM Advisory Council

Overview

The purpose of the Virginia Tech MSBA-HTM Advisory Council is to enhance the growth and success of the university’s MSBA-HTM program. The Advisory Council is composed of senior industry executives who meet quarterly to provide advice, review curriculum, and share the latest industry trends. Members help implement initiatives that support the program's operational goals, consult with administrators and faculty to update curriculum, and mentor students concerning career pathways. 

Specific functions of the Advisory Council include: 

  • ·       Helping develop and review program strategic plans and curricula
  • ·       Serving as a sounding board to assist the Program Director with policy decisions
  • ·       Assisting in the dissemination of information throughout the hospitality industry concerning the Virginia Tech HTM Department and programs,
  • ·       Assisting in maximizing job placement opportunities and internships
  • ·       Advising in the program's fund-raising and public relations efforts
  • ·       Assisting in program promotion, social and professional networking, alumni engagement, and classroom experiences 
  • ·       Collaborating with the VT HTM Advisory Board and other Pamplin Councils
