Schedule and Location

Beginning in Spring 2025, all courses will be offered at the Innovation Campus. Learn more about our relocation here

The majority of MSBA-HTM courses are offered in-person at the Northern Virginia Center in Falls Church. The center is conveniently located for commuters with easy access to the West Falls Church Metro station, I-495, I-66, the Dulles Access Road (267), and Route 7. A small selection of courses are offered fully online.

The flexibility of the MSBA-HTM program allows students to complete their degree at their own pace. Most students take two courses per semester, but may elect to take anywhere between one and four in order to meet the demands of their personal and professional lives. Full-time students can complete the degree in one year while part-time students typically complete it in less than two years.

Each course meets once per week from 6:00 – 8:50 pm. The number of courses a student takes each semester directly correlates to the number of nights they will be on campus in Falls Church. Classes are held Monday through Friday and occasionally a Saturday morning class will be offered.

Summer courses – often electives – are also available for those who wish to progress through the program at a steady pace and maintain their momentum throughout the year. University breaks are observed during the fall and spring semesters.

Founding Farmers co-owner, Dan Simons and a VT MSBA-HTM alumni, Mattheu Bess, discussed the value of the MSBA Hospitality and Tourism Management program (for both restaurant owners and those working in the hospitality industry).  Mattheu talks about his degree program and how it will help him as he moves into his hospitality career. Dan discusses what makes a good Restaurant Manager and what value he looks for in a Graduate Program.
