The Pamplin School of Business at Virginia Tech has announced the appointment of Dr. Kristin Lamoureux as Director of the Master of Science in Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management Program. Dr. Lamoureux, Collegiate Associate Professor of Tourism and Hospitality, is an accomplished hospitality and tourism educator and administrator. She has over 25 years of experience as a teacher, researcher, and practitioner, as well as a proven track record of fostering collaboration with industry professionals and transforming real life experience into high quality education in the US and abroad.

“Assuming the role of Director for the MSBA-HTM program at Virginia Tech, and spearheading its transition into the new VT Innovation Campus, is an exciting opportunity,” Dr. Lamoureux said. “I look forward to working with the Pamplin School of Business graduate programs and the VT Graduate School to harness the powers of innovation, technology, and sustainability to provide high-quality graduate education in the National Capital Region and beyond.”

Dr. Lamoureux previously served as the Associate Dean of the Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism at New York University. She also held the position of Executive Director of the International Institute of Tourism Studies (IITS) within the School of Business at The George Washington University. She has extensive experience serving as Principal Investigator on grants, including her most recent Department of the Interior funded project supporting Native American communities in cultural and heritage tourism development.

Dr. Lamoureux earned an A.S. in Travel Business Management from La Universidad Catolica del Ecuador, a B.S. in Travel Management from Johnson and Wales University in Rhode Island, and both a Master of Tourism Administration and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Strategic Management and Public Policy from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
