Huge congratulations to Mr. Kurt Krause, who was recently recognized as HTM’s very first Emeritus Advisory Board Member during our Advisory Board dinner on October 24th. This new membership is reserved for departing board members whose service has expanded for at least ten years and who have offered significant contributions in terms of time, talent and treasure to HTM, and concluded their voluntary service on the board in good standing. This new membership was created to honor their service but also allow them to remain engaged with the department on their own terms.

Dr. Hua Bai, also known as Wendy, is a visiting faculty member from Shenzhen Tourism College, Jinan University. During her time in the Hospitality and Tourism management program, Dr. Bai has been engaged in both research and teaching opportunities. She and Dr. Phil Xiang are in the final stages of a yearlong research project entitled “E-Commerce Based Tourism Supply Chain Collaboration.” Dr. Bai has been exposed to new styles of teaching, which she looks forward to applying in her classrooms at Shenzhen Tourism College. Additionally, Dr. Phil Xiang’s IT and Business Analytics class has inspired her to develop a similar course at Jinan University, utilizing Dr Xiang’s textbook entitled Tourism Information Technology.
