Visiting Faculty Feature: Dr. Hua Bai from Shenzhen Tourism College, Jinan University

Dr. Hua Bai, also known as Wendy, is a visiting faculty member from Shenzhen Tourism College, Jinan University. During her time in the Hospitality and Tourism management program, Dr. Bai has been engaged in both research and teaching opportunities. She and Dr. Phil Xiang are in the final stages of a yearlong research project entitled “E-Commerce Based Tourism Supply Chain Collaboration.” Dr. Bai has been exposed to new styles of teaching, which she looks forward to applying in her classrooms at Shenzhen Tourism College. Additionally, Dr. Phil Xiang’s IT and Business Analytics class has inspired her to develop a similar course at Jinan University, utilizing Dr Xiang’s textbook entitled Tourism Information Technology.
Dr. Bai’s received a scholarship from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) through a competitive process. The CSC is a non-profit institution affiliated with the Ministry of Education with the objective to promote education, technology, and cultural exchanges.
When Dr. Bai returns to Shenzhen, she will resume teaching undergraduate students in the areas of supply chain management, operations, logistic management, and wine supply chain management.
