Dr. Kim attended the Asia Pacific CHRIE Conference in Seoul, Korea.  Here, she presented:

As a discussant in the plenary session “K-Food Export Strategy”.  A key takeaway was the importance of collaboration between industry leaders and academic experts to successfully globalize K-Food, leveraging innovative marketing and understanding diverse culinary preferences. 

“Fostering a Greener Campus Dining:  Boosting Gen Z Consumers’ Attitudes Toward Reusable Containers” with PhD Candidate Seonwoo Ko.

“Eye on the Menu:  Exploring the Impact of Location Calorie Labeling on Consumer Attention and Choice” with PhD Candidates Ju Yeon Shin and Seonwoo Ko.

At this Conference, Dr. Kim received The Contribution Award.

While in Korea, Dr. Kim was invited to the Foodservice Program at the Department of Food and Nutrition at Seoul National University.  Here, she spoke on “Understanding Consumer Behavior:  Pioneering Hospitality Research with Eye-Tracking Technology”.

Dr. Kim then joined the 2024 World FoodTech Conference as a panelist discussing the “Application of Robots in Restaurants”.  Here they discussed integrating robots into food prep, service and customer interaction, focusing on boosting efficiency, cutting costs, and enhancing customer experiences.  Dr. Kim shared insights on the benefits and challenges of robotic integration, emphasizing strategic planning and adaptability.  This panel included an exchange of ideas with industry leaders, including CEOs from Yanolja F&B Solution, HanwhaFoodtech and Gopizza.
