Janine Kniola

Biography

Janine Kniola has been with Amadeus, formerly Newmarket International, for 25 years. Her roles span Educational Development, Product Management, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success with a focus on Sales & Catering (Delphi, MeetingBroker) and Service Optimization (HotSOS) technology solutions. She has contributed to the strategic growth, sales and customer retention initiatives serving clients that include global brands, management companies, and independent properties. As a leader, she is committed to keeping ‘hospitality’ central to the Amadeus mission and culture as a technology company.

When Janine moved to Blacksburg in 2004, she quickly formed a personal connection with Howard Feiertag, her first friend in town. Over the years, she served as a guest speaker in his Hospitality Sales and Meetings & Events classes before ultimately accepting an Adjunct Faculty position—one she attributes to Howard’s inspiration, passion, and dedication to students and the profession.

Before her career in hospitality technology, Janine worked in Higher Education and Student Affairs. She earned her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Leadership and Organizational Studies from Binghamton University, NY and Masters Degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration from Bowling Green State University, OH. Her career includes advising campus organizations, overseeing residential life, Greek Life, and coordinating campus-wide events at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of New Hampshire. She also has experience in association meeting management and leadership roles in non-profit organizations.

Janine is a mother of two college-aged daughters, having raised them in our beautiful Blacksburg community she is proud to be one of the founders of the Blacksburg Children’s Museum, now known as Wonder Universe, a Children’s Museum located in Christiansburg, Virginia.
